The "Progress" Update:
Added:
- New rooms to explore in the Crypt
- New colour palette for the Crypt
- Colour banding dithering effect
- A new creature can appear in the Crypt
- Wisps can appear in the Crypt to guide the player
- An inventory system has been added, allowing the player to see and manage what artefacts and items they have found in the Crypt
- New examine mode to let the player examine items that can be picked up by holding the right mouse button when interacting with said items
- New examine messages for existing items and props
- New items and props
- New models for some existing items and props
- "Cathedral" lobby (currently using a temporary layout and model) which uses a separate colour palette from the Crypt and contains looted items and artefacts
- "Ending" room within the lobby, accessible by collecting enough loot from the Crypt and escaping with it
- Tips to read whilst in the loading screen
- New sound effects for menus, pickups and placing
- New ambient noise system
- New creature AI
- New status effect system
- All creatures now induce panic when sighted
- Hand icon to indicate torch and lever interactions
- Small optimisations for walls, ceilings and floors
- Display settings
- Additional control settings
- Save system
- New logo
- A splashscreen when loading up the game
- A Patreon hyperlink in the pause menu alongside the new Discord one
Changed:
- Overhauled the Crypt's level generation which now also uses specified base values to assign worth to looted items and artefacts
- Creatures make less noise while moving
- Creatures make noise less frequently (7s - 17s -> 20s - 120s)
- Creatures have improved senses
- Creatures have improved agility
- Creatures have improved materials
- Creatures no longer slow down before reaching their target
- Creatures can navigate their surroundings better
- Creatures will now wander when stuck searching
- The trapped creature will now move around in its cell
- Panic now induces grain and distortion effects
- Escape doors use a new model
- The main menu as been replaced by the "Cathedral" lobby
- Player footstep volume decreased
- Doors now have a random opening and closing delay to avoid audio stacking
- Torch light up speed increased
- Largely decreased torch flicker
- New lighting system for wall torches
- Increased light produced by artefacts
- Decreased range of wall torch interaction text
- Improvements to environmental rendering
- Darkened wall materials
- Improved brick generation
- Improved text visuals
- Adjusted loading screen text size
- Changed examine icon
- Changed pickup icon
- UI and settings improvements
- Move credits from options to the lobby
- Updated game credits
Fixed:
- Creatures no longer get permanently cut off from navigating to certain areas by closing a door
- Creatures no longer attempt to walk on walls and ceilings
- Creatures can no longer walk through stone pillars
- Creatures can no longer see through closed doors
- Creatures have less trouble targeting the player
- Fixed the game fullscreening whenever the player spawns
- Fixed certain torch braces not being interactable
- Fixed various artefact points
- Fixed some brick generation issues in several rooms
- Fixed phantom bricks on lower levels
- Fixed mushrooms spawning on objects such as pots and skulls
- Fixed damage sound not playing when the player is instantly killed
- Fixed sounds continuing to play in the pause menu
- Fixed a grammatical error in an examination message
- A couple of issues with the custom cursor have been resolved
Removed:
- Main menu
- Old score system
- Colliders on floor bricks
